Fischer and Rolandas Kiaulevicius has open a children's gallery featuring
his watercolor's and illustrations from his current book
"Zoolidays".
Born in Lithuanian town of Sankonys,
Rolandas started painting at a very young age. By the age of 11, he
was attending art school. After High School, he furthered his art education
at Siauliu Pedagogical University. Came to America and learned English at Yale while
developing a portfolio at Paier College of Art, and earning a Master of
Fine Arts Degree at Western
Connecticut State University.
The Shoreline Art Alliance presented Rolandas an award from Tassy Walden.
Thus, the children's book "Zoolidays" was
published by Red Cygnet Press in 2006.
The illustrations are about zoo animals who paint each other to gain more
visitors to the zoo so it won't close down. He is currently painting
watercolors for his next book "Moonlidays".
This story will take the animal characters to the moon after building the
rocket ship.
He is currently performing around the United States with Gintaras
Jocius. They formed GIRO, a name that is taken from the first
two letters of each of their first names. The duo creates paintings
to live music using a variety of innovative techniques. One
technique is to paint on an elevated canvas that rotates to live,
swelling music, the paint application ultimately produce a recognizable
image. They perform on stilts.
He currently works as an art teacher with students ranging in age from
kindergarten through college.
